According to Bloomberg News and sources familiar with the matter, Apple (AAPL.O) is pushing ahead with the production of its Vision Pro mixed-reality headset, aiming for a launch in February.
Reportedly, manufacturing of the innovative headset has been operating at full capacity in Chinese facilities for several weeks now.
The company aims to have units ready for customers by the end of January, with plans to officially introduce the product to the market the following month, as per the report.
Initially priced at $3,499, the Vision Pro was launched in June, and earlier estimations suggested its availability in the U.S. by early 2024.
In a move to prepare developers for the Vision Pro’s launch, Apple allegedly dispatched an email on Wednesday, urging them to ensure their apps are optimized by using the latest tools and sending their software to Apple for evaluation and feedback.
Reports circulating in July had hinted at Apple facing production forecast reductions for the headset due to complexities in its design.
