Gotham Knights will take us to a city without Batman, shining the spotlight on his allies Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin and Red Hood. A new behind-the-scenes trailer for the upcoming game dropped Wednesday, and Warner Bros. Games Montreal developers dived into the heroes’ shared trauma after their mentor’s apparent death.
The DC Comics-inspired co-op adventure game comes to PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on Oct. 21.
Wednesday’s trailer revealed more about the team’s relationship and how they’ll learn to trust each other over the course of the story. Alfred, the late Batman’s butler/surrogate father/confidante, also will play a vital role in bringing the family together.
They’ll face off against the Court of Owls, a spooky criminal group that’s been manipulating the city’s elites from the shadows for generations, and classic villains like Harley Quinn, Clayface and Mr. Freeze.
Each of the heroes will play differently, as shown in a 13-minute gameplay video and various trailers shown earlier this year.
