BYD, the Chinese electric vehicle powerhouse, zoomed ahead in 2023 with a staggering 62% surge in vehicle sales. Reporting a remarkable feat, the company disclosed that it sold approximately 3.02 million vehicles throughout the year, marking a substantial 61.9% upswing.
Notably, among these sales figures, around 1.6 million were battery electric vehicles (BEVs), showcasing the escalating demand for eco-friendly transport options. Moreover, the company also moved approximately 1.4 million plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (EVs), further solidifying its dominance in the market.
December, in particular, witnessed impressive sales numbers, with BYD clocking in 340,178 units, including a significant chunk of 190,754 all-electric vehicles. These year-end figures underscore BYD’s steadfast growth and the growing consumer interest in their electric vehicle lineup.
