In a groundbreaking milestone, Google and Alphabet’s CEO, Sundar Pichai, has announced that Google One, the tech giant’s subscription service offering additional storage and exclusive features, has reached an impressive 100 million subscribers.
Google One, known for providing expanded storage for free services like Gmail, Photos, and Drive, along with access to premium features, has now introduced a new tier: the AI Premium Plan. This plan, priced at $20 per month, includes 2TB of storage along with access to Gemini AI, a cutting-edge artificial intelligence model.
Gemini AI, dubbed as ‘Gemini Ultra,’ promises a paid experience that integrates seamlessly with Google Workspace apps such as Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Meet. The AI Premium Plan offers users a two-month-long free trial, allowing them to experience the power of Gemini Advanced, with additional generative AI features slated for integration into Gmail and Docs in the near future.
Pichai expressed his excitement about the milestone and the introduction of the AI Premium Plan in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), stating, “We just crossed 100 million Google One subscribers! Looking forward to building on that momentum with our new AI Premium Plan, offering AI features like Gemini Advanced, plus Gemini in Gmail, Docs + more coming soon.”
Google One plans start from just $1.99 per month, providing users with 100GB of storage shareable with up to five people, along with access to the company’s VPN service in the United States.
